Brightstead

PART OF THE CHERRYCROFT PRACTICE

ADULT WELLBEING · BAGSHOT, SURREY

Room to grow, at your own pace.

Brightstead is a wellbeing space for adults — a place to steady yourself, understand yourself better, and make something with your hands. Therapy rooms, small groups and creative workshops, all under one roof at Portland House.

Wellbeing, not crisis care — and we say so plainly.

Brightstead is for the ordinary, human work of feeling more like yourself: navigating a life transition, understanding a late diagnosis, recovering from burnout, or simply making time for something restorative. We are not an emergency or acute mental health service.

If you’re in crisis or need urgent support, please contact your GP, call NHS 111 (option 2), or reach the Samaritans free, any time, on 116 123.

ONE TO ONE

Work that starts where you are

Individual sessions in our therapy rooms at Portland House, with practitioners from a multidisciplinary clinical team. No waiting lists measured in seasons; no need for a diagnosis to begin.

Art therapy

Words aren’t always the way in. Art therapy offers a different route — making, shaping and noticing alongside a qualified art psychotherapist. No artistic skill needed, genuinely.

INDIVIDUAL · 50 MINs

Counselling

A steady, confidential space to think out loud about relationships, change, loss, identity, or the quiet accumulation of “too much”. Short-term focused work or open-ended.

INDIVIDUAL · 50 MINS

Neurodivergence coaching

Practical, strengths-based coaching for ADHD and autistic adults — executive functioning, energy management, work and study strategies, and life after a late diagnosis. Access to Work funding may apply.

INDIVIDUAL · IN PERSON OR ONLINE

WOMEN’S GROUPS

Small circles, honest company

Facilitated groups of six to eight women, meeting across a term. There’s a particular relief in a room of people who don’t need the backstory explained.

Transitions/ Grumpy Woman's Group

Menopause, empty nests, career pivots, caring roles, endings and unexpected beginnings. A group for the seasons of life nobody hands you a map for.

6-WEEK CIRCLE

Neurodivergent women

For women who are ADHD, autistic, or exploring the possibility — many diagnosed late, after years of masking. Recognition, unmasking, and practical shared wisdom.

8-WEEK CIRCLE

Burnout & recovery

When the tank has been empty for a while. A paced, gentle group focused on rest, boundaries, nervous-system literacy and rebuilding capacity without rushing it.

8-WEEK CIRCLE

CREATIVE WORKSHOPS

Fantasy terrarium workshops

Build a tiny fantasy world under glass — creatures, colourful scenery – a small door to somewhere else entirely. No green fingers needed!  Two unhurried hours of hands-in-soil focus that our clinicians would quietly describe as mindfulness, but you can just call a lovely evening.

  • Small groups in our Portland House rooms — everything provided, including the plants
  • No experience needed; every terrarium goes home with you
  • Bookable as open sessions, private groups, or team wellbeing events

Wellbeing boxes, clinically curated - WATCH THIS SPACE

Subscription boxes put together by our clinical team — not an algorithm, not a trend cycle. Each box pairs genuinely useful tools with plain-English guidance on why they help.

ADHD BOX – IN DEVELOPMENT

For brains that do everything at once

Sensory and focus tools, planning aids that survive contact with real life, and clinician-written notes on executive functioning, motivation and rest. For adults newly diagnosed, long diagnosed, or self-recognising.

AUTISM BOX – IN DEVELOPMENT

For a world that's often too loud

Regulation and sensory comfort items, energy-accounting tools, and guidance on unmasking, recovery after socialising, and building an environment that works with you rather than against you.

ABOUT BRIGHTSTEAD

A stead is a place. This one is yours.

Brightstead is the adult wellbeing arm of The Cherrycroft Practice, a multidisciplinary therapeutic and educational service in Bagshot, Surrey. That means everything here is designed and delivered by an experienced clinical team — psychologists, therapists and coaches — but held lightly, without the clinical furniture.

We built Brightstead because so many of the adults around our practice — parents, professionals, carers — were quietly running on empty while looking after everyone else. This is the room that’s for you.

Part of The Cherrycroft Practice

Cherrycroft provides clinical psychology, occupational therapy, speech and language therapy, art and play therapy, specialist teaching and neurodivergence coaching for children, young people and families.

Brightstead shares its home, its clinical governance and its standards — so the wellbeing work you do here rests on solid professional ground.
